ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintings, influenced by surrealism, abstract expressionism, and fantasy, serve as a visual diary of my emotional journey. Having lived through the wars in Croatia and Kosovo during the 90s and experienced the loss of my beloved husband to cancer, my artwork reflects my path through grief, love, and resilience.

I explore the contrasts that shape the human experience-light and dark, life and death, chaos and calm. By embracing these dualities, I aim to create visual depth that invites viewers to connect with their own emotions. My work draws from moments of hardship, yet it is also rooted in hope, love, and inspiration.

Using a variety of mediums, I navigate emotions both joyful and painful, embracing imperfections as essential to what makes us human. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to find beauty, strength, and meaning in their own experiences.
